And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mark 16:15-16

With much thanksgiving to our Lord, we inform you that Pastor John Flores was examined on Friday, November 30, 2012 by the combined consistories of the First Reformed Church and the Berean Protestant Reformed Church according to article 9 of our Church Order.  The examination began at 9:00 a.m. and the proceedings were finished at about 4:00 p.m.  He preached a Reformed, edifying, and lively sermon on John 6:44, and in Tagalog, no less.  The consistories did not treat the examination as a routine matter, but were noticeably involved with pertinent follow-up questions in most of the sections required by article 9 of our Church Order.
    Afterwards, the consistories voted unanimously to approve the examination of Pastor Flores, who demonstrated through his sermon and the oral part of the examination that he is soundly and distinctively Reformed, godly in walk of life, and able to preach the Word of God faithfully and lively for the edification of the saints in First Reformed Church.  We rejoice with Pastor Flores and his wife in the confirmation of the Lord through the church concerning his gifts and calling to the ministry of the Word.
    This significant decision of the combined consistories also means that he will be according the full rights and privileges of a minister of the Word and Sacraments in a future Protestant Reformed denomination in the Philippines, when that is established, the Lord willing.
    Included with this note is a photo Pastor Flores being presented with a diploma by Rev. Kleyn, and which was signed by the elders, deacons, and Pastor Ibe from the two consistories.
