On October 14, 2001 Rev. C. Haak (Roselle, IL) declined the call to Redlands congregation.  The council has made a new trio: Revs. J. Slopsema (First, Grand Rapids), C. Terpstra (Holland, MI), and M. Vander Wal (Wyckoff, NJ). On October 28 they called the Rev. Martin Vander Wal.   On December 2 Rev. Vander Wal announced his acceptance of this call.

      A new congregation was organized on May 5, 1999 to worship in the Dyer, Indiana area. The congregation is meeting at the St. John Township Hall, 1515 West Lincoln HWY, Schererville, Indiana (just east of the Paragon Restaurant) {map}.  Services are held at 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  (On occasion, afternoon service is held at 2:00 P.M.; please call to determine time of this second service. The second service is currently held at Illiana Christian High School in Lansing, IL.)   To get to this site, take I-80 to Indianapolis Boulevard, go south on Indianapolis Boulevard to US Route 30.  Take Route 30 west to the St. John Township Hall.

The congregation of Doon, IA Prot. Ref. Church has called Rev. A. Spriensma (Grandville, MI)  to serve as Missionary in the Philippines.  .

Hull, Iowa

Seminarian David Overway will begin his internship in July, 2001 until January 2002 in Hull, Iowa under the direction of Hull's pastor, Rev. S. Key.

Hull's Council has made a trio for missionary to Ghana: Revs. Wayne Bekkering (Pella, IA), Mike De Vries (Edmonton, Canada), and Rod Miersma (Lacombe, Canada).  On August 6 Rev. Wayne Bekkering received the call.  On September 2, Rev. W. Bekkering announced that he accepted this call.  He was installed on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 in a special worship service at Hull Protestant Reformed Church.

Pella, Iowa

Classis West, on Sept. 5, 2001, approved the recommendation of Pella's consistory and the Classical church visitors that Pella disband as a congregation.   The final service for the congregation was Oct. 28, 2001.

Byron Center, Michigan

Rev. Doug Kuiper announced on Oct. 14, 2001 that he has accepted the call to serve as pastor of Randolph, WI congregation.  The Council has made the following trio: Rev. R. Cammenga (Southwest, Grand Rapids, MI), Rev. R. Van Overloop (Georgetown, Hudsonville, MI) and Rev. J. Slopsema (First, Grand Rapids, MI).   On Nov. 4, 2001 they called Rev. R. Cammenga.  On December 2 Rev. R. Cammenga announced that he had declined this call.

    On Feb. 18 the first services were held for a prospective new sister congregation of the Hudsonville Protestant Reformed Church due to the overcrowding in the auditorium of that congregation.  Services are being held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Heritage Christian School in Hudsonville and at 3:00 p.m. at the Hudsonville Reformed Church building.  Forty-eight families organized on Wednesday, July 18 as Trinity Protestant Reformed Church of Hudsonville, MI.  For more information, call Rev. Trinity Protestant Reformed Church, Hudsonville, MI

Trinity Protestant Reformed Church has formed a new   trio: Revs. C. Terpstra (Holland, MI), M. VanderWal (Wyckoff, NJ), and C. Haak (Bethel--Roselle, IL).  On Nov. 25, Rev. Carl Haak received this call.

   Hope Prot. Ref. Church of Walker, MI is the calling church for minister-on-loan to the Evangelical Reformed Churches of Singapore.  Rev. J. Kortering is presently serving as minister-on-loan there.  The Synod of the PRC has decided that another pastor be called to take the place of Rev. J. Kortering.  Rev. A. denHartog received this call and on August 26, 2001 he announced that he had accepted this call.  He will be installed in office, the Lord willing, on Nov. 18 in their morning service.   He will preach his inaugural sermon the evening of Nov. 18.

Lynden, WA Lynden congregation has made a trio of Rev.J. Lanning (Hope, Grand Rapids, Mi), Rev. C. Haak, (Bethel, Roselle, IL), and Rev. Allen Brummel (South Holland, IL).  On Nov. 11, 2001 Rev. A. Brummel was called to serve as pastor.   On December 2 Rev.Brummel announced his decline of this call.

Randolph, Wisconsin

The Congregation of the Randolph Protestant Reformed Church has a new trio: Rev. Ron Hanko, Rev. Doug Kuiper (Byron Center), and Rev. Ron Van Overloop (Georgetown, Hudsonville, MI).  On September 10, this congregation called the Rev. Doug Kuiper as pastor.  On October 14, 2001 he announced his acceptance of this call.  He was installed as their new pastor on December 2.

Spokane, WA

     The Protestant Reformed Churches are beginning a work in Spokane, Washington area.  The Rev. Thomas Miersma is serving there as pastor.  You are invited to join in worship every Lord's Day: is morning service is at  11:30 a.m.  The evening service is at 5:30 p.m.  Both services are held in the East Valley Presbyterian Church building, 5305 N. Ghana Mission

Rev. R. Moore has a radio broadcast every Thursday at 8:30p.m. on Radio Universe (105.7FM). 

On December 5, Rev. Wayne Bekkering and family travel to Ghana to assist in the mission work there.
