October 12, 2001 -- Rev. Wayne Bekkering is installed as missionary to Ghana in a special service at the Hull, Iowa Protestant Reformed Church.
October 4, 2001 -- Trinity Protestant Reformed Church made a trio of: Revs. J. Slopsema (First, Grand Rapids), C. Terpstra (Holland, MI), and M. VanderWal (Wyckoff, NJ).

September 16, 2001 -- Rev. Rod Miersma (Lacombe, Canada) declined the call to serve as missionary in the Philippines
September 12, 2001 -- Classis East designates Sunday, September 16, 2001 as a special day of prayer for its churches in connection with the terrorist acts which occurred in New York City and Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001.   Classis West designates Thursday, Sept. 13, as a special day of worship in connection with this same event.

August 23, 2001: Eastside Christian School has its ground-breaking ceremony.
August 13-17, 2001: The Young People of the Protestant Reformed Churches held their annual convention at the Lake Ann Baptist Camp, near Traverse City, MI.  The Protestant Reformed Church of Holland, MI sponsored the convention.   There were 406 young people in attendance.
August 6, 2001 -- Rev. Wayne Bekkering (Pella, IA) received the call through Hull, IA Prot. Ref. Church to serve as missionary in Ghana.

July 30, 2001 -- Rev. Carl Haak, (Roselle, IL) received the call from Randolph, WI congregation.
July 19, 2001 -- Randolph, WI makes a trio for minister: Rev. C. Haak (Roselle, IL), Rev. R. Hanko (Hudsonville, MI), Rev. M. DeVries (Edmonton, Canada).
July 18, 2001 -- Trinity Protestant Reformed Church of Hudsonville, MI was organized with 48 families in the Hudsonville Reformed Church auditorium (this building is being purchased from the Reformed Church for use by the new congregation).
July 15, 2001 -- Hope, Grand Rapids, MI congregation calls Rev. A. denHartog to serve as minister on loan for the ERC of Singapore.
July 15, 2001 -- Rev. A. Brummel (South Holland, IL) declines the call to the church in Randolph, WI.
July 13, 2001 -- Hope Protestant Reformed Church of Walker, MI celebrated with Rev. Jason Kortering and his wife the 40th anniversary of his entrance into the ministry.

Distant Dates in the History of the Protestant Reformed Churches

December 12, 1924 -- Christian Reformed Classis East of Grand Rapids, MI suspended Rev. Herman Hoeksema from office of the ministry and deposed the consistory of Eastern Ave. Christian Reformed Church.
July 7, 1924 -- The Synod of the Christian Reformed Church, convening in Kalamazoo, MI, adopted the "Three Points of Common Grace" which became the occasion for the formation of the Protestant Reformed Churches.
