Wednesday: Catechism

 

Church visitors are scheduled to meet with the consistory on Wednesday, October 15 at 7 PM after which will be the regular consistory meeting.

 

Rob & Judy Moerman are inviting the congregation to their home for a potluck and hayride on October 24th at 5:45 pm.  Please bring a dish to pass and lawn chairs.  Hotdogs and pop will be provided.

 

DENOMINATIONAL REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS

Doon PRC called Rev. R. Kleyn to serve as missionary in the Philippines.

Grace PRC called Rev. R. Van Overloop.

 

There will be a special Classis meeting called for by Providence PRC and Faith PRC of Jenison, and Hudsonville PRC.  We will meet to examine Providence’s Pastor-elect Heath Bleyenberg, according to Article 4 of our Church Order.  Classis will convene on Tuesday, October 21 at 8 AM at Hudsonville PRC.  Ordination for Heath Bleyenberg will take place on October 23 at 7:00 PM at Faith Church in Jenison.

 

Holland PRC Young People are hosting a Singspiration on Sunday, October 26, at 8:15 p.m. Holland church's choir will also be singing a few numbers. A collection will be taken as a fundraiser for the YP convention. All are welcome!

 

The South Holland PRC Evangelism Committee is having a Reformation Lecture on October 31, 2008.  The Lecture will be held at Cornerstone PRC at 7 pm. The topic is “The Reformed Ecumenical Movement: Was the Reformation a Mistake?” The speaker is Professor Hanko and we will have refreshments afterwards.

 

Lynden Young Adults Retreat- The Lynden Young Adults are planning a retreat for next summer, July 20-23, 2009! Save the date on your calendar and plan to join us for this great time of Christian fellowship and fun while enjoying the beautiful scenery of northwest Washington. More information to come in the next months!

 

Rev. C. Hanko's memoirs, as seen in the 2005-2008 Beacon Lights, will be sent to the publisher soon. We hope to have the books ready for you before the end of the year. Please keep in mind that we are printing a limited number of books and are not planning on a second printing.
