RFPA: Rev. Herman Hoeksema once wrote that the members of the RFPA “ought to consider it a privilege that, in virtue of their office of believers, they may work for the sending forth of this testimony far and wide; and that they ought to assume their responsibility in this respect” (Standard Bearer Vol.22, p.130). Therefore, the RFPA announces the annual Association meeting to be held on September 23, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at Hope Protestant Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prof. Hanko will give the key address with reports of the Association officers following. All are welcome and encouraged to attend: current members, interested persons, faithful supporters, and readers.

Thoughts For Contemplation

As it is written,There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” - Romans 3:10-12.

The Book of the Dead provided help in entering the After-world.  … (Upon death), the spirit of Isty begins her journey to the other world... Armed with the spells and instructions contained (therein), Isty is admitted to the presence of the 42 gods & goddesses who will judge her.  To prove her virtue, Isty recites The Negative Confession.  Instead of asking forgiveness for her sins, she'll tell the gods all the terrible things she did not do: “I do not do harm to anyone... I had no acquaintance with evil.  I did not do evil... I did not kill... I did not lie to anyone... I did not fornicate... I did not steal... I am pure, pure, pure.” - from an Ancient Egypt exhibit, citing Spell 126, The Book of the Dead.

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?  And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and thy mother. And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up...And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. - Luke 18:18-21, 26-27.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Not of works, lest any man should boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9.
