Announcements: At this morning's worship service, we witness the public confession of faith of Monica Brands.  Let us rejoice with our sister & her family on this blessed occasion.  May the LORD be pleased to use this occasion mightily to strengthen her walk with Him in the year ahead and bless her in her college life.

This evening, we welcome Seminarian Cory Griess to our pulpit.   Sem. Griess is into his final year of seminary training and interning at Hull PRC under Rev. Key till December.  He is a son of our sister-congregation in Loveland.  Let us welcome both Sem. & Mrs. Griess to our fellowship.

The FMC meets at Hull PRC on Tuesday, 7pm.

Our Pastor is scheduled for vacation on August 20-26. Next Sunday morning, an Elder will be leading us at worship through a video sermon.  Pastor Lee leads us at worship next Sunday evening.

Please pick up from the back table your family's copy of The Acts of Synod 2008, and if you are an RFPA Book Club member, a copy of the book Redeemed With Judgment, Vol 2 (invoices will be mailed out later).

The Church Picnic will be a welcome for Mr & Mrs Hunter and their daughter Beth.  It will be held Thursday, August 28, at 6:30PM at the Edgerton City Park South Shelter House.  We will have a potluck supper with coffee and ice cream provided.

Our Church Family: The Rest Home Visiting Committee this week is Dale & Delma Post.

Christian sympathies are extended to Mrs. Tillie Brummel and the Baker, Brummel & Post families in our midst on the passing away of her brother-in-law, Mr. Dowie Vanderschaaf this week.  “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” – Psalm 116:15.

Mr. & Mrs. Chester Hunter have moved into their home in Edgerton.  Thanks to all who came to help with unloading on Thursday.  Their contact information: Address: 251 Center Street West, Telephone No: 442-5740 (active on late Monday), Email Address: edgertonskip@frontiernet.net.  They plan to move Mrs. Vivian Hunter to her home in Edgerton early this week.

Heritage PRF (Sioux Falls): Elizabeth Van Egdom is scheduled to have her public confession of faith at a worship service of HPRF on September 7, the Lord-willing.

Catechism: A new season of Catechism Instruction is just around the corner!  Catechism classes are to begin on Wednesday, September 10.  We plan to be handing out Catechism materials after the AM service of August 31.  This year, the Beginners and Juniors will be having their Catechism Instruction on Wednesday morning at the Free Christian School.  All the other classes will meet at church on Wednesday evening, beginning with the Seniors at 6.40pm.

Church News:

Rev. Van Overloop declined the call to labor as Missionary (Philippines).

Rev. R. Kleyn declined the call from Providence PRC.

Providence PRC has formed a new trio of Candidate H. Bleyenberg, Rev. J. Laning (Hope, Walker; MI) and Rev. M. VanderWal (Hope, Redlands; CA).  They plan to call on Tuesday, August 26.

The new trio for Calvary PRC is:  Candidate Heath Bleyenberg, Rev. Ron Hanko, and Rev. Bill Langerak.

Rev. J. Slopsema is considering the call from Grace PRC.

Rev. Smit and his brother, Peter Smit from Redlands PRC, are visiting the Philippines. This is the first of their three Sundays they plan to be there and have various mandates from Doon council and the FMC to accomplish while there including providing pulpit supply for the Berean worship services. They arrived this week and plan to return on September 1.

School News: The Free Christian School Ladies Circle will meet this Thursday, August 21 at 7:30PM at Sharon Brummel’s home.

The Ladies Circle continues to collect pop cans.  Please bring your crushed cans to Elsie Ver Hey.

Requested Announcements: Treat yourself and the family to a delicious buffet at the Labor Day pancake breakfast. Serving times will be from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and it will be held at the Hull PR grade school gym. Freewill donation for Trinity Christian High School.
