Baptism
At
its meeting this past week, with thanksgiving to our faithful covenant God the
Consistory approved seven baptism requests and scheduled baptisms. Next Sunday morning the sacrament of baptism
will be administered to Ellie Grace Eriks (daughter
of Pastor and Jen), Jonathan Ian Hoekstra (son of Josh and Sharla),
Everett Leon Kamps (son of George and Cathy), and Keira Se-na VanderKolk
(daughter of Brent and Jessica). On
August 10, the sacrament of baptism will be administered to Kenton James Butler
(son of Brad and Kelly) and to Jared Steven Holstege
(son of Jason and Jill). On August 31,
the sacrament of baptism will be administered to Shane Derek Cnossen (son of Derek and Leanne).
Our Church Family
Wedding: Nadine Mast and Dustin Boven
will be united in marriage Friday night, July 18 at 6:30 PM in the First Byron Chr. Ref. Church.
The congregation is invited to witness the ceremony.
Congratulations to John and
Emily Hopkins who were united in marriage this past Friday.
Our Sick: Mrs. Phyllis Miedema
received news recently that the cancer has not spread to her lymph nodes. She will begin radiation treatments on August
4 for about 6 weeks. May our loving,
sovereign Father continue to provide for Pete and Phyllis in this trial from
His hand.
The
Congregation and
all guests are invited to stay after the morning service Sunday, July 20, for a
time of coffee and fellowship. Anyone willing to bring a plate of cookies/bars, please sign up on
the sheet on the Fellowship Table or call Pam Hoekstra at 896-8240.
Young People
Many
of our young people will be attending the convention this week in Otisville,
MI. We pray for God’s blessing upon the
young people that this might be a week of spiritual strengthening and
refreshment in fellowship with other believing young people. May God’s name be glorified in this week. Don’t forget
about the pre-convention singspiration tonight.
Sunday School
Sunday
School meets today at 11:15 AM. Parents can pick up their children at noon. There will be no Sunday School
on July 20 because of the baptisms and coffee after church.
Attention LIFE Group
We
will be meeting this week Monday, July 14, at 10:00 AM. See the Fellowship Table for more information
and sign-up sheet.
