FROM THE CONSISTORY

At a congregational meeting this past Monday, the congregation approved a revised weekly budget of $51.79 per family for the remainder of this year.

Kolette Heynen, Christina Kooiker, and Nicholas Netten will make their public confessions of faith during the worship service this evening. We praise God for the confessions of these young adults, and pray that He will grant them the grace to continue to walk closely with Him in the days ahead.

With joy the Consistory announces that Larissa Burgers, Shantelle Gritters, Nicole Groeneweg, Michael Hilt, and Marisa Van Bemmel have appeared before the Consistory to make confession of their faith. Unless there are any lawful objections, their public confessions of faith are scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 12, at the evening service.

The Church Visitors are scheduled to meet with our Council this Tuesday at 7:00 PM. That same evening our Council plans to begin the process of nominating elders and deacons. According to Article 22 of the Church Order, the Council is called “to give the members an opportunity to direct attention to suitable persons.” Anyone desiring to recommend someone for one of the special offices may make this known to any member of the Council.

Classis West is scheduled to take place this Wednesday here at Hull PRC. Our pastor and elder Jim Andringa will be the delegates from our church. There will be an Officebearers’ Conference the day prior to classis on Tuesday. The theme of this conference will be “The Divine Act of Creation.” The conference schedule can be found on the back page of the August issue of The Standard Bearer.

Some copies of the Acts of Synod 2010 are still available on tables in the fellowship hall.

Catechism materials for the 8th through 11th grades are available on a table in the fellowship hall. Those in 12th grade and above will be studying the Belgic Confession. Catechism materials for the younger grades were distributed at school this past Thursday. If your child did not receive any material, please contact the pastor. Catechism is scheduled to begin on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 7 and 8.

Next week Sunday evening a collection will be taken for the Heritage PRC Building Fund (Sioux Falls).  An additional collection for this cause will also be taken during the evening service of October 31.
