Professor Robert Decker Retires

    Professor Robert Decker was ordained into the ministry of the Word in October of 1965 at Doon, Iowa.  He served the Doon, IA congregation until 1969 when he accepted a call to the South Holland (IL) congregation.  In 1973 he was appointed by the Synod as Professor in the Protestant Reformed Seminary where he served the past 33 years.

    At the Synod of 2006 his request for emeritation (retirement) beginning on July 1, 2006 was approved.  Rev. Barry Gritters had been appointed as his replacement at an earlier Synod.
