It’s big, and it’s coming to the NW Iowa area this spring: “History and Principles of Reformed Education (HPRE)” HPRE is a course sponsored by the Federation of Protestant Reformed Schools, of which our local Protestant Reformed schools are members. HPRE has been taught in western Michigan several times, and now, for the first time, it will be offered locally. The class will be held from May 26 to June 5, mainly in the evenings at Trinity Christian High School. The class is of benefit to more than just teachers. College students, parents, school board members, grandparents, and all who have in interest in the history, governance, worldview, and many more topics about our schools will be enriched. Are you a parent, board member, or other supporter of our schools who has a great love for Protestant Reformed education but cannot commit to the taking the entire History and Principles class? We have a great opportunity for you! Prof. Dykstra, teacher of the class, has graciously agreed to gear three of the class periods for a public audience. The classes of May 27, “The Reformation and the Christian School”; June 2, “Three Radically Different Approaches to Education”; and June 4, “What Makes the Protestant Reformed School Distinct?” are free and open to the public. 6:30-9:30 pm at Trinity Christian High School. Coffee breaks provided. You won’t be disappointed.
