Loveland (CO) PRC's Evangelism Committee is sponsoring a special lecture to be held this Thursday, September 26, at 7pm. in the church. Prof. David J. Engelsma will speak on “The Coming of the Kingdom of Christ: ‘Christianizing’ the World?” The lecture will not only critique the common grace and Christian Reconstruction projects of turning this world into the kingdom of Christ before the second coming, but it will also emphasize the Reformation’s “office of all believers” in living and advancing the kingdom of Christ in all areas of everyday, earthly life. All in the area and beyond are cordially invited and encouraged to attend this lecture as well as to join us in fellowship.
The PR Fellowship in Pittsburgh, PA will be hosting a Reformation Day lecture both in Cranberry Township, PA on October 30 and in the Fellowship meeting place in Pittsburgh on November 1. Missionary-pastor W.Bruinsma will speak on the subject: "Why the Reformation Was Necessary." Both lectures will begin at 7 PM. The lecture in Cranberry Township will be held in Four Points by Sheraton in the Cranberry Room. We cordially welcome all in the area and any out-of-town visitors to join us!
Pastor John Flores and elder Reden Zuniega (First Reformed Church of Bulacan) will be visiting the Protestant Reformed Fellowship in Albuera, Leyte (PRFA) this coming weekend, the Lord willing. They will be gone from Friday (September 20) through Tuesday (September 24). May the Lord keep them safe as they travel and give them an enjoyable and profitable time among our fellow believers in Albuera, using the time for the encouragement of the members of the PRFA there.
The next 7M pastors’ class is scheduled to meet on Monday, September 23 in Batasan Hills.
Rev. Smit and Rev. Kleyn will be travelling to southern Negros Occidental this week to teach Reformed doctrine and Reformed church government to a group of 8 pastors there. To learn more about this work and see pictures of the last visit to this area, see this recent post on the Kleyn's blog.
The biannual youth camp has rolled around again. This year the Launceston youth under the oversight of the Launceston Session, will be hosting a camp at the Bridport Bayview Centre. The camp will start on the afternoon of Saturday the 28th of Dec, 2013 and run through to midday on the 3rd of Jan 2014.
The campsite is located on the north-east coast of Tasmania—approximately an hour’s drive from Launceston city centre. Right on a beach!!
The purpose of this camp is to engage in the study of God’s Word with respect to subjects particularly relevant to Christian young people and to provide opportunity for fellowship in the walk of faith.
This year's camp speaker will be Pastor Ron Van Overloop of Grace Protestant Reformed Church (PRC) MI, America.

The Reformed Free Publishing Association has published their latest "Update" newsletter (#25) for the Fall of 2013. In this issue retired PRC Professor David Engelsma writes the main piece, showing the relationship between The Standard Bearer and the PRC, sub-titling it "A Trumpet Blast and Reformed Testimony". And Justin Smidstra, a first year Seminarian at the PR Seminary writes a review of Prof.D.Engelsma's new book, Battle for Sovereign Grace in the Covenant: The Declaration of Principles (RFPA, 2013). Classis East is meeting today for its regular session in the Grand Rapids area at Byron Center PRC. The agenda is light. Rev.James Slopsema, pastor of First PRC, Grand Rapids, will lead the meeting according to the scheduled rotation. May the Lord bless this church work of our pastors and elders and the decisions reached for the good of the churches.

Byron Center PRC
Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Byron Center PRC. Each church was represented by two delegates. Rev. J. Slopsema was the chairman for this session.
The business was routine and classis was finished early. As the chairman noted, this is a sign that the churches have peace and unity in their midst.
Classical appointments were given to Faith PRC. There were no expenses for this session.
Classis will meet next on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Southeast PRC.

From their new trio of Revs. R. Kleyn (Covenant PRC, Spokane), W. Langerak (SE PRC, Grand Rapids, MI), and J. Marcus (First PRC, Edmonton) Doon PRC extended a call to Rev.R.Kleyn on Sunday, Sept.15. He plans to answer by Sunday, October 6.
