Georgetown PRC has just published the latest India Mission Outreach Newsletter. The February 2014 issue focuses mainly on the recent visit of Prof.B.Gritters and elder Deane Wassink and their wives to the area of Vellore in southern India. There are reports on the conference held on Reformed church government and on Bible studies on the doctrine of the covenant, as well as on visits to the Grace Foster Home.
We produce the full newsletter here and also attach it in pdf form if you wish to print it. Let's continue to pray for this work and prayerfully consider supporting it financially.
After a lengthy travel delay due to bad weather in the Eastern U.S. last weekend, Prof. and Mrs.B.Gritters and Elder and Mrs. D.Wassink arrived safely in Vellore, India early Sunday morning. And after a brief rest and a warm welcome, they dug into their work. You may find daily updates and pictures on Georgetown PRC's Facebook page. Here's a sample from Prof.Gritters on the first day of the conference on Reformed church government:
Today I did finish my first section: What IS the church; discussed the idea of the church and then its marks, then the false church--lots of discussion there.
Tomorrow, DV, the calling of the church. First, the offices, and show that the offices of apostle and prophet are no longer in the church after the apostles passed away--thus no miracles; you remember this as part of the questions last year. Then, the WORK of the church as it fits with the three offices.
Then, Thursday, DV, the calling of the member of the church, harmonizing with the three-fold office of believer. Lots of material and not enough time.
The picture of the white board is my notes and Paul's addition in Tamil script (See the additional pictures at the Facebook link - cjt.)
Lori's hand with a lady of the fellowship at the conference. She and lori were washing hands together, and she spontaneously took Lori's hand and remarked at the different colors. Apicture to show the unity of the church that we've been teaching.
Prof. Barry and Lori Gritters, and Deane and Donna Wassink from Georgetown PRC will be in Vellore, India from Jan. 2 until Jan. 18. They will spend their time with the Reformed Christian Church of Vellore, with whom the Georgetown PRC has been working for many years. Prof. Gritters will be lecturing on the doctrine of the church the first week. He will be giving 5 hours of lectures a day for three days the first week, which lectures will be translated. The second week he will give lectures to the English-speaking church and a Bible study on the doctrine of the covenant and its applications. In addition, Prof. will be preaching both Sundays and speaking for evening Bible studies as well.
May the Lord bless their work and return them home safely. Let us remember to pray for this work of the Lord Jesus Christ in India. (Taken from Hudsonville PRC's church bulletin, where the Gritters are members.)
