From First PRC-Edmonton comes this special invitation for THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, NOV.23:

The Evangelism Committee invites you to a public lecture entitled “Fighting for Sexual Purity: The Battle Against Pornography” this Friday, November 23, at 7:30 PM (Mountain time). Discussed will be the pervasiveness of this sin in the world and church, the dreadful and destructive consequences of this sin, how we may guard against it, and the hope for those presently caught in its grip.

All in the area are welcome and encouraged to attend!

A live-stream of the lecture will also be available online at our church website at www.edmontonprc.org.

Christian School Lectures in Edmonton, AB this Saturday, Nov.30!

RDykstra1The PR Christian School Society of Edmonton, AB invites you to a day of special Christian education lectures this week Saturday, November 30. Professor Russell Dykstra from the Protestant Reformed Theological School will be speaking on the following:

  • 10:30 am – The Reformation’s Zeal for Christian Schools
  • 12:00 pm – break for lunch (lunch to be provided)
  • 1:15 pm – The Foundation of the Christian School: God’s Everlasting Covenant of Grace

The lectures will be held in the First PRC of Edmonton. Spend your day hearing from one of our Professors and join us for a bit of fellowship.

Rev.S.Key to Lecture on "The Reformed Worldview"

StevenKeyThe Edmonton PRC Evangelism Committee is sponsoring a lecture entitled, "The Reformed Worldview," to be given this Friday evening, September 27, at 7:00 p.m. by Rev. Steve Key, in the church. Rev. Key is pastor of the Loveland PRC in Loveland, CO, and has been developing the concept of the Reformed worldview in a series of articles in The Standard Bearer. In the course of his lecture Rev.Key will answer such questions as, How are we to view the world? What is our calling in the world? What is the church's calling? Those in the area and beyond are cordially invited and encouraged to attend this timely lecture.

New Evangelism Pamphlet: "The Christian Life" by J.Calvin

The Evangelism Committee has recently ordered the printing of a new pamphlet, “The Christian Life,” by John Calvin. This pamphlet is made up of chapters 6 through 10 of book 3 of the Institutes and includes chapters on "Scriptural arguments exhorting us to holiness," "Not our own," "Self-denial and bearing the cross," "Aspiring to the future life," and "Rightly using the present life and its comforts." We have printed advanced copies of the pamphlet and placed them in the back of the church for our congregation.
