"Covenant Keepers", the youth ministry of the Covenant Evangelical Reformed Church of Singapore (our sister church), has just published issue #33 of "Salt Shakers" (July 2015),their youth magazine.

Once again the "SS" is packed with interesting and edifying articles, and our PRC young people especially are invited and encouraged to read it. Below you will find a note from the "SS" Committee introducing the contents of this issue and images of the cover and table of contents.

Let's be in prayer this week for our young people, the chaperones, and the speakers that together they may experience a spiritually rewarding week.

On this ninth of August, 2015 the following is a summary of the news items found in church bulletins and announced on this day:

~ Candidate Ryan Barnhill announced in Peace PRC this morning that he had accepted the call extended to him by the congregation. We rejoice with him and his family and with the congregation at Peace on God's provision of their need.

~ Doon PRC, the calling church for the PRC mission work in the Philippines, has formed a new trio for second missionary to the Philippines consisting of Revs. G. Eriks (Hudsonville PRC), C. Haak (Georgetown PRC, Hudsonville, MI), and B. Huizinga (Hope PRC, Redlands, CA). A congregational meeting has been set for Monday, August 17, at 7:00 p.m.

~ Prof. Ronald and Rhonda Cammenga (PRC Seminary) will be leaving this coming Tuesday, August 11, for a two-and-a-half week stay in the Philippines. While there Prof. Cammenga will lead two different all-day pastor's conferences and will preach in the churches. The trip is also intended to be an encouragement to our missionary Rev. Daniel Kleyn and his wife Sharon in the absence of a second missionary. Pray that the Lord gives safety in their travels and uses the Cammengas for the good of our missionary and his wife, as well as our fellow saints in the Philippines.

Our missionary in the Philippines, along with the Foreign Mission Committee and the calling church, Doon PRC Council, have just published their latest newsletter of this year.

The August 2015 issue, penned by Elder Jim Regnerus and his wife Brenda (Doon PRC), part of the recent delegation to the field along with Rev.A. Brummel and his wife, gives a unique perspective on this field of labor with all its diversity. Specifically, he gives ten prayer items for us to commit to. Shall we read them and commit to that?

Let's remember to pray for the Kleyns as they serve the Lord and His people in distant lands - and by themselves at this point. May they daily experience the unfailing presence of their Lord and the faithful support of their fellow-saints.

Grandville Evangelism Committee would like to invite you to attend a timely speech with Rev. Ron VanOverloop speaking on "Teaching our Children and Grandchildren to Witness". The speech will take place, Lord willing, at Grandville PRC, Tuesday, August 4, at 7:00 PM.

This speech will be directed toward all ages. Bring the whole family. Nursery will be provided. Stay for refreshments and fellowship afterwards.

First PRC of Grand Rapids, MI and the Reformed Witness Hour Committee announce the messages scheduled for August 2015 on the RWH radio program.

Rev. Carl Haak, pastor of Georgetown PRC in Hudsonville, MI, will continue a series on God's holy institution of marriage and the family, fitting for the summer season of weddings and engagements. In addition, he will give a special Christian education message on the last Sunday of this month.

From her Council's trio of Revs.D.Holstege and S.Key and Candidate Ryan Barnhill, the congregation of Peace PRC voted to extend a call to Cand.R.Barnhill this evening (July 27, 2015).

We rejoice with Cand.Barnhill, his wife, and family as well as with Peace PRC in this confirmation of the internal call he felt long ago. May the Lord of the church continue to prepare him for entrance into the ministry of the Word in the days ahead.

This morning (July 26, 2015) it was announced in Doon PRC, the calling church for the mission field in the Philippines, that Rev. Allen Brummel, pastor of Heritage PRC in Sioux Falls, SD, DECLINED the call to serve as second missionary in the Philippines - a call extended to him by the Doon congregation on July 5.

Once again, we commit Doon PRC, the field in the Philippines, and Rev.D. Kleyn and his wife to our all-wise Lord, whose ways are higher than our ways, and who will surely supply the needs of all involved in this blessed work of our King.
