The Reformed Doctrines Class at 7:45 p.m. in Faith church. The topic will be “Conversion and Repentance.” The class will include an examination of the statement, “Our act of conversion is a prerequisite to enter into the kingdom [of God],” which statement was the occasion of the great schism in the Protestant Reformed Churches in the early 1950s.This statement necessarily involves the issue of conditional or unconditional salvation. Recommended reading includes the Heidelberg Catechism, Lord’s Day 33; Canons of Dordt 3–4.12–13, 16–17 and rejections 7–9; and the Declaration of Principles. All of all ages, including those outside the Protestant Reformed Churches, are welcome.
