Lord willing, for the month of December, Rev. Haak will lead us as we consider the treasure and the wonder of the birth of Jesus Christ in his series, The Blessings of Emmanuel’s Reign. Isaiah 35 speaks to us in a picturesque way of the blessings that will be brought when Immanuel comes. “The desert,” we read, “shall blossom as the rose…the eyes of the blind shall be opened…the parched ground shall become a pool of water…the redeemed of the Lord shall go upon a highway of holiness.” The point of the chapter is that when God pours out upon us sinners His goodness and grace in the coming of His Son Immanuel, great blessings come upon His precious church. Who is Downloading RWH Messages?

October was another interesting month for download data from Sermon Audio. You may recall back in April we saw a significantly larger number of downloads, mostly attributed to Cambodia. In October we had another significant increase in downloads, this time, it appears to be attributed to the state of Washington which had 2,723 downloads for the month. Additionally, the state of Texas had a significantly higher number of downloads compared to previous months with 413 downloads. These two states surpassed all other states for highest number of downloads in one month.

In October, we will have four more Christ-centered, Gospel-themed messages. We will finish Rev. Bruinsma’s series on the second coming of Christ. We will finish the month with another timely message from Rev. Bruinsma, Straying Sheep, on Isaiah 53:6: where we will hear how closely we resemble sheep:

“All we like sheep have gone astray” Oh, how we stray! If only we could sit back and evaluate ourselves to see what we look like in God’s sight! When we evaluate the sheep, we could almost laugh at the sheep when they simply wander off from the flock and into the wilds. How foolish of them. Cannot they see what they are doing? How foolish are we, oh sheep of God’s pasture? How foolish you and I can be. What really strikes me about this passage is this: How pointed it is when describing you and me. Isaiah tells us that “we have turned every one to his own way.” What a vivid description of us as far as our sinful flesh is concerned… God’s Word is so, so clear!  It tells us how we are to live… But when we hear that Word, then our flesh kicks against the pricks.  And, for some absurd reason, we think our own way is better than God’s..

Who is Downloading to RWH Messages?

You may remember from our June 2024 newsletter that we had some interesting facts about who was listening to our internet broadcasts. In April and May 2024, we saw 1,000-2,000 more digital downloads than our average monthly downloads over the past year. We also noted that a significantly larger percentage of those downloads were from Cambodia and were downloaded via podcasts platforms (typically podcasts account for about 40% of downloads whereas these two months we saw over 70% of downloads via podcast).  As of June, we have seen a return to average downloads with a large majority of downloads coming from the United States (1,093). Cambodia does remain the country with the second most downloads, but trails the U.S. with 113 downloads.

Praise the Lord for spreading the Gospel through this ministry and continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Cambodia!

Who is Listening to RWH?

We have several intriguing statistics to share this month regarding our listenership. On average, the number of digital message downloads for the past six months has been about 1,668 per month. Digital downloads include downloads from Sermon Audio, podcast apps, the RWH website and other Apps. In April this year, there were 3,811 digital downloads! Over 2,000 more downloads than average. For May, the rate of downloaded messages is also on track to far exceed prior months with an expected 3,600 message downloads.  

Who is listening? Cambodia! In April, Cambodia was the country with the most digital downloads with 2,431 downloads. The U.S. had the second most digital downloads in April with 1,135 (less than half of Cambodia). In the prior six months, Cambodia typically had between 300 and 400 downloads while the U.S had about 1,000 downloads per month. Cambodia remains the leading country for downloads in May as well.

How are listeners listening? Podcasts. Over the past year, about 40% of digital downloads have been downloaded via podcast apps. In April, 71% of digital downloads were completed via podcast.
