On Sunday, May 25, 2014, Rev.G.Eriks announced in his congregation (Hudsonville PRC) that he was led to decline the call from our First PRC of Grand Rapids, a call he had received by vote of the congregation on May 1, 2014.

Rev.Eriks has served as pastor of Hudsonville PRC since July of 2005.

On Sunday morning, May 18, 2014, Rev.C.Spronk, pastor of Peace PRC (Lansing IL) announced that he was led by the Lord of the church to decline the call which came to him from Doon (IA) PRC on April 20, 2014.

Pastor Spronk was ordained and installed in Peace PRC in September of 2007.

From the Council of First PRC in Grand Rapids, MI comes this news item after their congregational meeting Thursday night, May 1:

At the special congregational meeting held this past Thursday, Rev. G. Eriks was selected to receive the call to serve as our pastor following Rev. Slopsema's retirement June 30. We pray that our Heavenly Father will graciously guide him as he considers this call.

First PRC, Grand Rapids and the Reformed Witness Hour Committee announce the messages scheduled for May 2014 on the RWH program. Rev.Rodney Kleyn, pastor of the Covenant of Grace PRC in Spokane, WA, plans to finish his series on the book of Job and then also give a special Ascension Day message. On Sunday April 6, it was announced in Doon (IA) PRC  that Rev.B. Huizinga, pastor of Hope PRC, Redlands, CA, had declined her call sent on March 20.

On Sunday April 13 the Council of Doon PRC  announced a new trio from which to call a pastor. It is made up of Revs. D. Holstege (Holland, MI), N. Langerak (Crete, IL) and C. Spronk (Peace PRC, Lansing, IL). 

The congregation will vote at a special meeting Sunday April 20.
