fresh newsletter about our congregation is available (May
2013)! Pulpit Supply: This summer, while our pastor takes some vacation, we hope to have Rev. G.Eriks preach for us on July 14, Prof. R.Dykstra on July 28. The newly licensed seminarian, Ryan Barnhill, is scheduled to preach for us on August 11 and 18 while Rev. Kleyn is on classical appointment in Doon. Registration is open for the Western Young People's Retreat to be held July 1-4, 2013, at the Pend Oreille Bible Camp in eastern Washington. Rev. R. Kleyn and Rev. Hanko will speak on the theme: "Put on the Whole Armor of God". Activities include a day of white water rafting! Registration information and forms have been sent to your pastor. You can also request the materials to be sent directly to you by contacting Fred Hanko at fredncathy@juno.com. Beginning Feb.3 our pastor (Rev.R.Kleyn) will be on the Reformed Witness Hour broadcast until the end of May 2013. You can tune in on Sundays with your family at 5pm on KSPO 106.5FM or at 9:30am on KTW AM630. The messages are also archived at www.reformedwitnesshour.org, where you can either read or listen to them. Also, in the coming months we will begin a new radio advertising venture on these same stations. The pastor will record one minute ads on different biblical subjects that will be played on these over stations. Pray for God’s blessing on our witness the radio. |

Classis East met on Wednesday, May 8 at Faith PRC. The agenda was light and the men completed their work in short order. Rev.D.Overway (Hope PRC) chaired the meeting. A classical appointment schedule for Faith PRC was approved. The September classis is to meet at Byron Center PRC. |
The Evangelism Committee has recently ordered the printing of a new pamphlet, “The Christian Life,” by John Calvin. This pamphlet is made up of chapters 6 through 10 of book 3 of the Institutes and includes chapters on "Scriptural arguments exhorting us to holiness," "Not our own," "Self-denial and bearing the cross," "Aspiring to the future life," and "Rightly using the present life and its comforts." We have printed advanced copies of the pamphlet and placed them in the back of the church for our congregation. Those Evangelism Committees in West Michigan, in the Chicago area, and those churches with delegates to Synod should contact Edgerton PRC (the U.S. distributor - edgertonprc@gmail.com) for orders soon so that Rev.D.Kuiper can take them to Synod.
Edmonton PRC will be hosting a young
adult's retreat on the theme the "The Antithesis in
History." The retreat will be held at the Goldeye Centre
near Nordegg, Alberta from July 29 to August 1,
2013. The speakers will be Rev. J. Marcus and Rev.
T. Miersma. For more information and updates, please

The Evangelism Committee continues to provide Holland Rescue Mission chapels the 4th Thursday of odd months. We will also conduct a Bible Study there for 6 weeks in April and May (beginning April 15). Evangelism committee’s
last Bible study is at Holland Mission tomorrow.
Rev. Holstege will lead. We will be leading the
chapel at Holland Rescue Mission this week Thursday at 7 p.m.
Sem.Ryan Barnhill will speak.
All are invited and encouraged to attend. The proposal was approved at the
congregational meeting this past week to allow the Council to develop plans,
contact trades for pricing, and obtain architect drawings for the
“classroom wing” concept that was presented. The proposal to
approve upgrades to our audio system was also approved at the congregational
meeting. |

a new organ. Details concerning the proposal are going to be

The Young Adults Bible Study is currently hosting a video series on child-rearing, entitled “Shepherding a Child’s Heart,” by Tedd Tripp. This will occur in the months of April and May, with most meetings taking place on Thursday nights from 7:30 - 9:00. Pastor Key will chair the meetings and lead any discussion. Members of the congregation are welcome to attend.

The Consistory has approved a request from the faculty of the seminary that our Consistory and Pastor oversee the internship of Seminarian Joshua Engelsma. The Lord willing Seminarian Engelsma, his wife Courtney, and children Calvin and Charlotte, will be part of our congregation’s life and fellowship from July 1 to December 31. We look forward to welcoming the Engelsma family into our midst. |

The congregation, at the meeting Tuesday night (May 14), approved spending $4,000.00 with RMD Architects to begin drawing plans for a church building and $5,000.00 with Feenstra and Associates for engineering and site work. The Evangelism Committee is sponsoring a
2-class lecture series "Jehovah's Witnesses: What they Believe and
How to Witness to Them." Dates for the lectures will be Tuesday June
25, and Tuesday July 2. We anticipate meeting at the church
property. More information to come as the time approaches! |

This is a domestic mission field of the PRC. Southwest PRC is the calling
church for our missionary, Rev.W. Bruinsma. Read the latest newsletter (April 2013) Old Testament Bible Class in Cranberry The Survey of Old Testament History class in Cranberry continues on Wednesday nights in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center. The classes begin at 7 PM sharp since we have the room rented for an hour. We will be meeting in the back room of the Senior/Teen Center. A new schedule will be available for the summer classes. Sit in on our missionary's Saturday morning classes on the Belgic Confession. |

A foreign mission church of the PRC. Doon, IA PRC is the calling church for the two missionaries working in the Philippines, Rev.D.Kleyn and Rev.R.Smit. Their work includes the First Reformed Church of Bulacan and the All of Grace PR Fellowship in Gabaldon, as well as contacts in various areas of the Philippines. Rev.V.Ibe is serving as pastor of the BPRC. Rev. R.Smit and Rev. D.Kleyn will be traveling to Southern Negros Occidental this week Monday through Wednesday May 20-22). They will be conducting classes with a group of pastors there on Monday and Wednesday. The annual BPRC’s conference was held on April 26. Rev.
R.Smit and Rev. D.Kleyn gave the four speeches concerning “The Sovereignty Of God Over All Things”
(Sovereignty and Creation, Sovereignty and Salvation, Sovereignty and the
Inspiration of Scripture, Sovereignty and the Responsibility of Man). To

visit the Kleyn's blog. The Ibe family is currently lodged at the SIL
Manila Guest House (guest house address: #12 Big Horseshoe Drive,
San Juan) until it is possible for them to move into a temporary rental
house in Mecayauan later in this month of July. The rental house in
Mecayauan will serve as temporary housing for several months until a
proposal for permanent and more suitable housing can be considered for
approval by the congregation at a future general assembly meeting. |

was approved at the PRC of Synod 2012.
Synod also approved sending a Minister on Loan (MOL) to
labor in the CERS to meet their present need of being without a pastor.
Grandville PRC was appointed as the calling church.
In July of 2012 Grandville PRC's Council formed a trio of Rev. A. den Hartog (Southwest), Rev. W. Langerak
(Southeast), and Rev. A. Lanning (Faith) for Minister-on-Loan to the
CERC.
