At her congregational meeting on Sunday morning, July 24, 2016, Doon PRC voted to extend a call to Rev. C. Griess (Calvary PRC, Hull, IA) to serve as third missionary to the Philippines.

This call follows the decision of the 2016 PRC Synod, to call a third missionary in the Philippines with the view to one of the missionaries devoting time to investigate the possibility of setting up a theological school in the Philippines.

Let us pray for this servant of the Lord as he considers this new call, the call to First PRC of Holland, and the call of his current charge in Calvary.

The Council of First PRC (Holland, MI) has announced a new trio from which the congregation will call on Sunday, July 17, 2016.

The trio consists of Rev. Cory Griess (Calvary PRC, Hull, IA), Rev. Allen Brummel (Heritage PRC, Sioux Falls, SD), and Rev. Rodney Kleyn (Covenant of Grace, Spokane, WA).

*UPDATE: At the congregational meeting held Sunday evening, July 17, the members voted to extend a call to Rev.C. Griess.

From their trio of Revs. W. Bruinsma, C. Griess (Calvary PRC), and R. Kleyn (Covenant of Grace PRC), the newly organized Pittsburgh PRC extended a call to Missionary-pastor W. Bruinsma on Sunday, July 10.

Rev. Bruinsma has served as Eastern Home Misisonary in the PRC since 2006, mainly stationed in Pittsburgh mission.

May the Lord of the church make His will plain to this servant and give Him grace to follow it.

The Council of Doon PRC, the calling church for the field in the Philippines, has formed the following trio from which to call a third missionary to the Philippines:

Revs. A. Brummel (Heritage PRC, Sioux Falls, SD), C. Griess (Calvary PRC, Hull, IA), and B. Huizinga (Hope PRC, Redlands, CA).  

A congregational meeting is scheduled for July 24.

Rev. Carl Haak, pastor of Georgetown PRC (Hudsonville, MI) begins his four-month service for the RWH program.

This evening in Calvary PRC (see note below) Rev. Daniel Holstege will be installed as a PRC missionary, called by Doon PRC to serve in the Philippines with Rev. Daniel Kleyn.

This is the note that appeared concerning the event in Doon's bulletin this past Sunday, June 26, 2016:

The consistory calls the congregation to a special worship service on July 1 for the installation of Rev. D.Holstege as our missionary. Because of space constraints in our building, the service will be held at Calvary PRC, beginning at 7:00pm. The offering that evening will be for the Philippine Book Fund. Rev.Holstege will preach his inaugural sermon during our morning worship service on July 3.

Let us remember this pastor and his family as he takes up this new charge and prepares to take up the labors in that part of the world.
